Car Dog Guards & Safety Harnesses
Dog Guards create a safe partition between pets and passengers allowing them to interact without compromising on safety. Create a safe space for pets while protecting drivers and passengers from the dangers of unsecured cargo.
Why do pets need to be restrained in the car?
Pets need to be restrained in vehicles for their own protection and for the protection of humans; in a crash or emergency stop at only 30mph an unrestrained dog will fly forward and hit the first solid object it meets with a force equivalent to 25 times its own weight, easily enough force to cause serious injury or death.
Unrestrained dogs can also distract the driver - a dog which gets onto the driver's lap or into the driver's footwell could easily cause a total loss of control. Dogs must be restrained in vehicles, bylaw (UK Highway Code section 57).
